GIC is Awarded Evaluation Project for U.S. Grains Council’s Programs in South Korea

For Immediate Release

Alexandria, VA, October 12, 2015

October 12, 2015 – GIC Group is pleased to announce that it has been selected by the U.S. Grains Council (USGC) to conduct an evaluation of USGC programs in South Korea. USGC’s membership includes producer organizations and agribusinesses with a common interest in developing export markets for barley, corn, sorghum, and related products. Membership funds trigger matching market development funds from the U.S. government and support from cooperating groups in foreign countries to implement international marketing programs.

The evaluation of USGC programs in Korea will include an assessment and market analysis, and a five-year recommendation plan. The assessment will include an analysis of the Korea programs objectives and activities conducted in order to determine opportunities for future collaboration, the quantification to determine how effective the resource allocation to these programs has been, as well as the identification of the competitive advantages of U.S. barley, corn, sorghum, and related products in increasing the value and/or market share in Korea.

“We are extremely pleased to be working once again with the USGC, a strategic organization for promoting the export of U.S. barley, corn, sorghum, and related products. Our evaluation will include an innovative approach for measuring program accomplishments. We will also be laying out a five-year recommendation plan for future Korea programs/projects,” said Richard Gilmore, GIC’s President/CEO.
